  • Cynthia’s Soul Grill. Specializing in fried chicken, fish, and other classic soul food and Southern fried dishes.
  • Telangana Spice Kitchen. A South Indian restaurant with unique appetizers and tons of rice bowls. Excellent.
  • Capone’s Restaurant Bar & Bottle Shop. A long-standing, family-owned tavern featuring pub fare, lots of appetizers and dinners. Capone’s also has a large selection of craft beers (30), and a fully stocked bottle shop.
  • There are also three wonderful Mexican restaurants in Norristown. All with their own style.
    • El Primo Produce is a grocery store offering authentic Mexican cuisine, plus a butcher shop, deli, and a casual restaurant.
    • Emiliano’s Carnitas, specializing in authentic Michoacan-style carnitas. Carnitas means “little meats” in Spanish and is a traditional pork dish originating from the state of Michoacan.
    • El Charro Mexican Restaurant, known as “taco heaven,” with a plethora of mouthwatering taco creations. While El Charro is not a chain, there are several of them throughout the United States, and the founder of the El Charro Café in Tucson, Arizona, Monica Finn, is credited as the possible inventor of the chimichanga in the late 1940s after accidentally dropping a burrito into a deep fryer!
  • One Love Jamaican Take Out. Serves up jerk chicken, oxtail, and other delicious Jamaican dishes.
  • There are also two hot chicken places in Norristown.
    • Asad’s Hot Chicken prides itself on serving only the highest quality, mouthwatering fried chicken, all with a secret blend of spices that bring out the perfect balance of heat and flavor.
    •  New to the area is Nanu’s Hot Chicken, already the must-stop destination for halal Nashville-style chicken, and also features a huge variety of healthy smoothies.
  • August Moon, a traditional Korean and Japanese fine dining establishment that has an amazing 33 dinner options and tons of roll options available.
  • No description of Norristown’s restaurants would be complete without the famous “Norristown Zep,” a salami and provolone sandwich with thick slices of tomato and raw onions, olive oil, on a wide Italian roll. And “The Zep” has strict rules and mysterious origins. Lettuce is forbidden. The rules also don’t allow a combination of meats, and no vinegar, which separates “The Zep” from an Italian hoagie. Lou’s Sandwich Shop and Eve’s Lunch are the “Zep’s” best-known guardians, and both have generations of loyal followers. The inventor of “The Zep” is full of mystery and rumors. Norristown adopted the sandwich as its own, and the debate over the true inventor has never been settled.
