This award-winning historic hotel has been named to USA Today’s “10 Best Historic Hotels List” for four consecutive years. This year, the Hotel Bethlehem is proud to be ranked “#1 Best Historic Hotel.”
In 2021, the Hotel Bethlehem was also chosen as the “#1 Historic Hotel” for USA Today’s list. In previous years, it also ranked “3rd and 2nd Best Historic Hotel” in the Top 10 List.
This year happens to be the 100th Anniversary of Hotel Bethlehem. It was first opened in 1922 by steel baron, Charles Schwab, as a place to entertain clients of the Bethlehem Steel Manufacturing Plant.
Earlier this year, the hotel’s managing partner, Bruce Haines stated:
“Over the past 100 years, we’ve hosted generations of weddings, anniversaries, and special events. We’ve employed thousands of local residents. Historic Hotel Bethlehem is part of the fabric of people’s lives and we hope everyone who considers it a special place will vote to keep your community hotel number one in the nation... It would be absolutely fitting to receive this recognition to put the icing on the cake of the hotel’s 100th anniversary this year.”
His wish has come true for the Hotel Bethlehem in 2022. It’s a second win as the top historic hotel in America. Hopefully, many guests will be able to spend the holiday season here as the hotel and the town are closely associated with Christmas.
How Hotel Bethlehem Made the List
Every year, USA has a team of travel experts evaluate different historic hotels. The best ones are placed on a list that readers vote on to determine rank. The list is posted at USA Today’s website. This years’ list was open for participation until August 15th. On August 26th, USA Today published the winners’ and their ranks.
