In 2023, Lehigh Valley's manufacturing sector grew by leaps and bounds. Once again showing what makes this part of the country a big draw for homebuyers and rental tenants looking for employment. 

According to the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC), the region's manufacturing sector grew 11 times faster than the nation as a whole in the past five years. This part of the East Coast boasts certain features that allow it to be a hotspot for economic activity. Lehigh Valley is positioned on the border of the Washington, D.C. to Boston corridor, which makes it an ideal spot from which to deliver goods to retail locations and customers throughout the Eastern Seaboard.   • Phoenix Tube committed to expanding its operations in Bethlehem and adding 30 new jobs by the end of 2024.

  • OraSure Technologies increased its manufacturing capacity at a Bethlehem Township facility, allowing for the retention and addition of 400+ jobs.

  • iDEAL Semiconductor in Bethlehem added 63 new jobs at it's Ben Franklin TechVentures site in Bethlehem.

  • Spot & Tango is opening a new manufacturing facility in Upper Macungie Township that will add 96 full-time jobs by 2026.

These are just some of the area businesses that have or are planning to add new jobs in the Lehigh Valley region.
