In our ongoing efforts to assist local groups and help out with charity events in the region, O’Brien’s recently worked with the Lehigh Mission District to provide help and support for their efforts. The Lehigh Mission District is an association of congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in portions of Lehigh County.

The mission supports various ministries throughout Lehigh County through the cooperation and support of its member churches. These ministries include after school and summer programs for inner city kids, community organization efforts in Allentown, fellowship programs for senior citizens, and a mission congregation to the Latino community of Allentown, as well as other worthy ministries.

We donated a truck and workers to pick up gifts at a local church in Emmaus and deliver them to Diakon Lutheran Services in Topton, PA. These gifts were collected by the members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Emmaus and donated to orphans in the region. For many years, one of the workers actually posed as Santa and gave the gifts to the children.

After nearly 90 years in the industry, we know that there’s a lot more to feeling “at home” after a move than simply unloading your belongings. Being involved and welcomed into your new community is key to feeling settled and comfortable in your new home or location, which is exactly why our team does everything we can to help out local events and charitable groups.
