The small town of Flemington, New Jersey, is rapidly emerging as one of New Jersey’s hottest towns. - Northlandz, home to the World’s Largest Miniature Wonderland, is a phenomenal train exhibit with 52,000 square feet of model train tracks, buildings, and landscapes. Over 100 trains travel through this vast miniature treasure.
- Samuel Fleming House, dating back to the 18th century, is now a museum that features exhibits from Flemington’s early history.
- The amazing historic 19th-century Union Hotel is now home to Unity Bank.
- Famed builder and self-taught architect Mahlon Fisher designed and remodeled several buildings along Main Street. He redesigned the former home of New Jersey Senator and Secretary of Defense Samuel Southard by extending a flat roof over four columns and decorating the entablature with carved wreaths. The county’s Child Advocacy Center now operates there. Fisher also built his own residence, the Doric House. The ostentatious home served as an advertisement for his building expertise. This led to the creation of his crown jewel, the Reading-Large House, built in 1847 — a massive, columned Greek Revival home that has stood the test of time and remains a showcase example of Greek Revival architecture.
- The annual Christmas tree lighting, held in the heart of Flemington, features live music and plenty of food vendors. The Flemington Opa! Greek Festival is also very popular.
- Deer Path Park offers miles of fitness and running trails surrounded by quiet woods. Winter turns the park into a venue for cross-country skiing with private lessons and DJ skates.
- The Shoppes at Flemington provide outdoor shopping.
- Tuccamirgan Park is great for winter hiking, and locals rave about the east side of the park for sledding.
